Rab ne bana di jodi from aditya chopra after 8 years. Does it have the same magic as ddlj i doubt it . Its not a bad movie but the magic touch of aditya and srk combo is missing i feel. Rnbdj has srk in the lead with debutant anuska sharma as tanni who has a pretty decent performance .
Srk plays surinder sahni , an ordinary person with not much expectations in life , disciplened person , not much of an out spoken one , topper in studies and working for punjab power . Performance of srk as sahni is quite impressive ( not the usual srk we see) . Sahni falls in love with tanni his teachers daughter the first time he sees her in her marriage .circumstances makes them marry and they end up in amritsar and live separate lives in the same house .
Loneliness and love for dance brings tanni to a dance competition and surinder with the help of his hair stylist friend becomes raj and ends up as a dancing partner to tanni. Raj wows to make tanni love him and the events that follow makes tanni find love in the end .
I think the greatest let down is the songs .the song with kajol rani preity bipasha is a visual treat thats all . Not much of a melody ones that will make u humming again and again .
Performances;
Srk as surinder sahni is quite impressive unlike the usual srk . In the first few minutes of the plot you tend to pity him . There is a place where raj talks to the statue of surinder and the performance of srk is the best part in the whole movie i think.
Srk as raj as far as i am concerned i think he has done a bit too much in body language and style .
Anuska as tanni has a pretty decent performance
Overall a one time watch movie with not much of a magic touch of aditya and srk combo not any foot taping numbers but there is a cute message as far love is concerned. Its not what all good things you do for love but the sacrifices you make for your loved ones which get unnoticed matters the most .
