A lot of hype surrounds this latest offering from Yash Raj Films and SRK - Aditya Chopras return after a long hiatus, competition with Aamirs Ghajini, decision to release despite 26/11....
Frankly, its a good concept. An aam aadmi gets the girl he fell in love with by a tryst of fate. The only problem is that she feels shell never be able to love him. So, he creates a fictitious character out of himself who makes her laugh, dance and connect with her inner self. And she begins to start loving again...
Thin plot - Its a bit of a rip-off from Golmaal (the original masterpiece), if you ask me. The problem is that the movie is too long for the plot. You are left wondering if things would have ended differently had the climax happened an hour back.
And the cinematography is just awful! Most of the time, the characters head fills the entire screen. Often, some part of the head is cut off. The good parts - the performances are great! SRK, as usual. Anushka is a great find. Vinay Pathak has a great screen presence.
The songs grow on you, partly because of the fantastic picturization. Watch SRK dance to a medley of vintage hits with Kajol, Bipasha, Lara, Preity and Rani.
At the end, you come out feeling good. Happys Endings! Although, one part of me said it couldve been far better....
