Rabindrasangeet needs no introduction

Rabindrasangeet needs no introduction

The Album presents ten tracks with introduction to each song by Amitabh Bacchan. The selection presents the themes of love, spirituality and patriotism.Songs as ‘Koi to baat abhi’/ ‘Aaj jagte hain’ presents the longing of ones beloved which is used as a metaphor to represent the communion of the soul with the divine.‘Din ke dhalte dhalte’ presents the singer in solitude praying the Divine to ferry him across the ocean of miseries.‘Hamare vadon ke parr lagaye’/‘Payal baji jaaye’ presents the singer in waiting for his beloved.

The brilliant piece of ‘Mere mann mein dhadkan mein koi nache tata tata thei thei tata tata thei thei’ again presents a philosophical note representing the constant struggle one faces between the contrasting forces of happiness/sorrow, death and life etc. The refrain of tata thei tata thei presents the rhythm of dance of these forces and the words are unique to the original songs and have thus been retained. ‘O mere desh ki maati’ is a patriotic song. Shaheen Iqbal has been credited with the lyrics for eight tracks and remaining two are by Javed Akhtar and Rajesh Johri. The Album would certainly enchant and introduce to the Rabindrasangeet who are not acquainted with it. The CD is priced at a very affordable Rs.55/- and has been released by T-Series.
