Before I even bought ticket of this movie, I read some 2 - 3 reviews in famous newspapers who gave 2 stars to this movie. That did not dent my decisions and I went ahead. However, before I write some thing about movie, I would want to tell you that I never rely on those reviews. I feel they have soft corner towards certain production hoses/ friends and they don’t treat every body same. RACE 2 is another thriller from stable of Abbas Mastan and TIPS. I expect good music, lavish sets, good costumes, pretty girls and dashing heroes and story with lost of twist and turn from abbass mastaan. And this movie has all.
Film has good music, sweet lyrics and few good dance steps also. Atif Aslam has sung a lovely song and so are other songs. It has catchy numbers. Movie is blessed with decent story, few small time punches and cinematographer has also done good work. Acting wise; no oscar or film fare winners here, normal actors will acting stills which you expect in thriller movies. I felt Anil Kapoor is not required to do such other roles. First half has lot of twists and turns and it holds u. Film unfolds very quickly in first half, actually there is no suspense or thrill left in 2nd half (at least for me). due to a power packed first half, 2nd half looks pale. Said ali khan looks wow!! And so does Dipika. Jacklin had some acting to do here and she performed well. I really like the canvass and presentation of movie.
Many times its just visual delight(good work guys). I must also admit that if any one can be our desi BOND it has to be Saifuu. In fact, while watching few scenes, I felt movie is AGENT VINOD 2. Action is also decent but special effects disappoint. Even if they would have spent only 25 pcnt of marketing budget in special effects, results would have been JHAKAS. Nevertheless one time watch and good time pass.
