The revival of Radio has been a welcome change taht has proved many a pessimist wrong who insisted that the radio was as good as dead. Now the radio is again an essential part of our daily lives. More precisely , the FM radio is. There are so many things that one can do while listenig to the radio that it is amazing that did not make a bigger splash much earlier. This might not be the place where I put forth my views on this. Let us see why I like Radio Mirchi.
I am a student in Pune and have only a couple of choices when it comes to Fm viz. Akashvani or Radio mirchi. Mirchi has revolutionised my outlook on Radio of any description. It is very trendy, very real, connected to the pulse of the city. One can be sure to get a good collection of songs and if one is patient he is sure to get the song he wants to hear and many more you like.
It serves the important connection which keeps me connected to the latest happennings in the world of music and movie industry. In addition it also keeps me informed of various activities taking place in and around the city. The jockeys are mostly good and do not go on for too long. The tempo of the programs are well set and dont rush too much.
The snippets which this station provides like weather, traffic updates can sometimes prove very usefull. On days when improtant events like cricket match is taking place it provides regular though a bit delayed updates which keep my ear glued to the set. The only bone to pick with this radio station is that they harp a bit too much on the remixed songs and the latest film song thus ignoring the golden oldies.
This makes for repition and it is probable that one will end up listening to the same song thrice in as many hours. Also, the on the air request programs are comparitively few. Moreover, the station packs up at midnight which is a bit disapointing to nocturnal specialists like me. In metros the same channel is for the whole day and night. This make me wonder what is the cause of the closing up at midnight.
These are just minor blemishes on a very well rewarding channel. Hopefully, though, they will do something regarding them soon and make this radio station even more indispensable.
