Raees is a Action thriller Drama film, where story of the film is set in Gujarat. It is related to political background. The film is based on the Prohibition in Gujarat but will largely be shot on a sprawling set in Mumbai and not Ahmedabad.
There won’t be any shooting in Gujarat as such given the bitter aftermath Rahul Dholakia’s earlier movie Parzania which was based on 2002 communal riots received in the state.
The film "Raees" has shifted its release date to January 26, 2017.
Handsome Shahrukh Khan will be seen playing the role of a bootlegger, while Farhan Akhtar plays the role of a police officer in the film. This is first time for Shahrukh Khan and Farhan Akhtar to share the screen space.
Earlier both had worked together in Don and Don 2, but the difference is that in the two blockbuster had Farhan behind the camera while in Raees he will share screen space with the noted actor. Pakistani actress Mahira Khan plays the lead female role.
