Poor Nursing Staff & Wrong Insurance Claim process



  1. I have admitted my baby into hospital for "Fever" on 19th Sep’2017.




Nursing staff is not so good, they just handover the medicine / nebulizer and go away, with out giving any instructions how to use. After couple of fights and escalations Nursing staff responded well.


I’m surprised to see the response from doctors backing nursing staff, this is how it’s going to be where ever you go in the world. If some thing is not right it should be addressed in proper channel.


The care should be taken care by default as this is the renowned hospital for children and this is not a free service hospital is offering.


2.On discharge day, as the bill was settled by Insurance Company(Mediassist). there is a Hospital Discount provided by Mediassist(11%).


By default any hospital shouldn’t collect this amount as this is a discount.


Mediassist didn’t mention this as discount amount approval letter.But hospital guys insisting this should be in approval letter. This is very much available in the portal.


Tried reaching Mediassit helpdesk and was waiting patiently for 30 minutes in the call to connect to mediassist representative.


Since we already spent long day at hospital I decided to pay discounted amount from my pocket, considering I will talk to Mediassist later.




  1. After we got discharged dropped mail to mediassist and got delayed response after 3 days, stating "visit the hospital for refund, this will be settled". I visited hospital on 7th OCT’17 and the hospital guy repeating the same old story .




  2. Finally Mediassit agreed to drop mail to Rainbowhospital to settle the amount as this is the discount amount, which shouldn’t be collected in first place.






WHEN THERE IS POLICY WHY THE HELL RAINBOW HOSPITAL SHOULD COLLECT THE AMOUNT IRRESPECTIVE OF WHETHER IT’S IN APPROVAL LETTER OR NOT. LOT OF MESS AND WASTE OF TIME. EDUCATE THE STAFF ABOUT THIS AND DON’T MAKE CUSTOMERS TO LOSE PATIENCE AND BECOME PATIENTS.
