My new-born infant was taken to Rainbow Hopitals with dehydration due to some viral stomach infection. The doctors managed to bring him out of it, but pronounced him secondary lactose intolerent. While the consultant treating my baby, Dr. was very courteous and knowledgeable, several conflicting pronouncements were made by visiting doctors which confounded me no end. I must particularly warn you against the nutritionist, Dr. who seems to specialise in scaring the parents out of their wits by pronouncing medical opinions left and right. Please do not take her seriously because she is not even qualified to make such medical pronouncements, being just a nutritionist.
The second point of contention, which in my opinion rules Rainbow Hospitals out for new borns and infants, is that they subject the babies to too many needless tests and subsequent agony. I think the doctors should rely more on their experience and subject the baby to tests only if required. For example, my baby was asked to undergo ultrasound, urine culture, stool culture, blood tests and culture and several others were lined up before he thankfully recovered.
Lastly, the OPD of the hospital is most disgusting, with an ambience that can stifle ones breath. It is like a dungeon and chances of picking up infections there are extremely high.
On the plus point, some of the doctors there, Dr. being one of them, are very nice and comforting. The nursing staff too is quite helpful.
Overall, it may be a good idea to take your child to Rainbow hospitals; but as far as infants and new-borns are concerned, it is a no-no.
