Lunch in the Rainforest!

It was a hot afternoon, we were looking for someplace to have a late lunch and I thought about the Rainforest Cafe. We hadn’t been there in a long time, it was in the mall, it was cool and if I remembered correctly, it sure was good!

So we drove over to the mall and found a parking spot only 2 or 3 hundred miles(ha ha ha) from the entrance where the restaurant was. We trudged through the heat of about 90º and the humidity of about 100% into the mall(ahhhhhhhh, finally air conditioning) and walked over to the restaurant.

It was about 2:15 in the afternoon and luckily for us, it wasn’t crowded! We walked in and were immediatly shown to a great table right next to a beautiful waterfall, under trees filled with colorful(though not real) parrots. We heard the sounds of the parrots while we looked over the menu. We also heard the sounds of the monkeys and the grumbling of the lions in the background, from the other seating areas. (Each seating area represents another part of The Rainforest)

The menu was just as I remembered. So much to choose from. Sandwiches filled with perfectly grilled chicken or beef. 1/3 pound hamburgers done to perfection. Salads, made from the freshest ingredients, tossed with just the right amount of dressing. Dinners which included, tender ribs, steaks or chicken. Fresh veggies(not overcooked and bland)

I chose to have a Chinese chicken salad. Bright green lettuce, mixed with purple cabbage, bean sprouts, chunks of white meat chicken and tossed with crispy Chinese rice noodles. My friend chose a wonderful grilled chicken sandwich with melted cheese and topped with a type of salsa.

The wait for our lunch was only about 10 minutes, and in that time the waiter had returned to our table twice to refill our iced tea.

Needless to say, lunch was great! And I will make it a point not to let so much time go by in between visits again.

(Lunch will run you about $10.00 per person with a soft drink and not including tip.)

This is a great place to take the family, or have a business lunch.
