Rainforest Cafe............No reservations necessary to eat in the middle of the rainforest not far from your own home, whereverer hat may be.
You walk in to a dimly lit huge restaurant where the decor looks exactly as though you are in the middle of the actual rainforest. You hear Mynah birds and monkeys, lush greenery with all types of mechanical birds cooing, hooting and cawing. There are life size zebras and elephants set in tall grass settings.
We were shown to a table very near the elephants and next to a tree of beautiful, colorful birds. We sat down and immediately our waitress arrived with menus and took our drink order. She returned about 5 minutes later to take our order. The menu was vast. Almost too much to choose from! I was with a friend and we decided to order an appitizer to share and dinner.
Our appetizer was an assortment of various things..southwest eggrolls, chicken wings, stuffed jalapeno peppers and all were served with dipping sauces and were wonderful. My lunch was then brought to the table and it was huge! I got a 1/3 pound hamburger with cheese, onions, bacon, jalapenos and dressing. It came with a mound of fries and needless to say I couldnt finish it.
While I was eating my friend and I noticed that the elephants began to move and all of a sudden they raised their trunks and let out what I could only call an elephant bellow and a very light mist sprayed into the restaurant! Not enough to get you wet, but enough to make you feel as though you were really in the jungle. What fun!
I was a great experience and Im sure we will go back again and again!
The prices were quite reasonable. We both ate, including appetizer and soft drinks for about $30.00.
Say what you will, but I love this jungle!
