RAJ KAPOOR-PERSON WITH HIS OWN IDENTITY AND BLEND OF INDIAN VALUES
The thing that two reviews missed was the ’Down to earth’ property of Legendry Raj Sahab.He was a person who despite at heights of his career didnt got soaked in it.I read about his two facets towards life which I cant stop myself for mentioning.One was that he liked to sleep on floor! when he was in some foreign country’s Five Star Hotel then at night he found that he cant sleep well on bed. So he pulled the carpet and put it aside, straightened a Bedsheet n slept.In morning when brooming was done then his this act was complained to the Manager who in turn warned of fine if he repeated it.Our down to earth great Raj Sahab repeated his same act and wishfully submitted fine!!!!!what a great person, Do we have any film personality like him in this time?The second thing was that he loved all the persons who were around him- be it his relatives or servants, he never showed partiality or disrespect towards any.It was evident from the fact that he used to sleep by the side of his driver in car and he also named his Drivers name for the role of his laywer-friend in film Sangam!!!My motive in quoting these two instances of Raj Kapoor is to think of that person who gave moral values utmost prioroty and who continued unabated not fearing about the result which is evident from hia films.His every film was with strong message for society-Be it Kal Aaj Aur Kal(minimise Generation Gap), Mera Naam Joker(Be happy person n try to give happiness to others), Sangam(a Lover who can undertake any challenge to get his love, but unknowingly of his fiancee’s mind n when finds it, feels humiliated), Barsaat( a funny character who tries to mingle in society with its 2 number rules).One thing that I must mention here is that his songs were more close to heart as if they are depicting his own life and very much suiting his facial expressions and moves.He never took special stunts for his songs or to copy anybody else.Iam sorry that I cant stop writing about Raj Sa’ab.If we give Raj Kapoor a title of ’’Impossible to modify and copy’’personality then its best superlative.His place is distinct and will remain for centuries for such persons are not only born once but also are born not to die!
