I had heard so much of rajnationalexpress that I thought why not give it a try for our travel to goa from mumbai
I booked the tickets through their website and I think the process was good. there were so many things that had been mentioned that blankets, water, travel kit with headphones, eye band would be provided, even the buses shown looked quite comfortable.
i awaited the d-day and reached the stop at chembur 15 mins prior to the departure time. when I showed them the tickets they informed me that as the tata globus bus in which I had booked the tickets was cancelled we would be accomdated in the volvo bus. they assured us that we would be given good seats. so there went down the drain, the whole process of choosing the seat.
they also mention that there is a waiting lounge with ac, instead we were made to sit outside with no fan also .
the bus came in good one hour late and when we entered the bus we were shocked to see the quality of the bus. it was pathetic, I have travelled to pune in many other volvo busses but this wasnt anywhere near the luxury of those buses, even the MSRTC Mahabus to pune are much better then the RNE bus. then they offered us the seats that were not even together, we told them that we were a couple and had booked tickets well in advance but after much arguing they ask a poor fellow to shift to a non window seat and we were given those seats.
now the real problem starts, their website shows that the drivers are dressed in uniform, but forget uniform they werent even wearing decent clothes.
i asked for a blanket the assistant flatly refused to give one. at 12 in the night we were in no mood to argue. the ac water was driping, the legspace between the seats was bad and the folds also did not work. no travel kit was given adn only one small 100 ml plain water was given.
When my husband started feeling really cold he requested again for a blanket and he was given one rag like piece of blanket. when he opened the overhead rack there were many of them and he could have easily given one. but he dint do that when asked for it at first place.
There were so many stops before we reached goa and I could not sleep a wink. We had booked return tickets but I cancelled the return tickets, ( they havent refunded me the money but just given a credit note with one year validity) and took a flight back to mumbai.
I will never recommend Raj National Express to any one.
