Unbelievably dumb

First I must express my surprise to note that there has so far been only one review on this serial where I had expected several. The good news is that it perhaps is a reflection of the no of watchers of this absolutely ridiculous soap(with no froth) show.

So what am I doing here giving a review? Good question. The answer is that I write this piece more out of vengence as I am forced to catch an occasional glimpse at home thanks to a surprising fan following in my household. While the wife vehemently denies being fascinated by the serial, she follows it regularly out of curiosity which is what most soap operas end up doing - getting the watchers hooked irrespective of its quality.

Never mind, let us now get to the thick of action. Well.not really possible, as there is hardly any! The plot is so contrived, the acting is so flawed, the direction is listless and the background score is lifted straight from popular Bollywood numbers. Why oh why can’t the director get his/her act together!

I am simply appalled at the way the serial has meandered endlessly over the past one year or more with no signs of ending. The royal family which is the centre of all the mishaps seem to have no particular vocation in life as they stand in groups staring blandly at each other even in the height of tragedy. Tragedies, accidents, murder attempts, strangers, mysterious intruders, tantrics etc walking freely at will in the highly guarded royal household seem to be a daily affair for this highly dysfunctional family.

The heir apparent to the royal throne is an epitome of dead pan acting as his only expression in any situation, tragic, happy or ecstatic is of one suffering constipation in silence!

I really have nothing to reveal on the plot or add any further words on the rest of the characters who try gamely to prop up this wet bread affair.

My recommendation to the director is to shut this chewing gum affair immediately and focus his energies on something more meaningful.
