I really like travelling by Rajdhani Express - the one from Mumbai to Delhi and back. I know that there are several Rajdhani expresses now, between various state capitals and Delhi, but I’d still stick to Mumbai - Delhi.
Convenient timings - both ways - just right to finish (almost) a business day and not waste the next one.
Very fast and very few stops - does not waste time and goes as fast, if not faster than any other train in the country.
Fully air-conditioned - very comfortable and dust-free, except for the food smell at mealtimes.
Good food - unexpected from the Railways - really good stuff - served efficiently.
What dont I like - the tendency of passengers to drink on board - and to smoke inside the compartments. Belive me, I’m a regular smoker and occasional drinker myself, but I feel really uncomfortable. I also dont like the ease with which alcohol can be obtained from the catering staff, and the choice of liquor available with them. Just shows that its normal operating practice with them.
Of course, I also dont like the fact that tickets are not usually available at short notice, so people like me dont normally land up on this train.
Overall assessment - value for money.
