Tips for NDLS/NZM -to- BCT Rajdhani Express!!

Hi,

I guess with so many positive reviews, you must now be very much aware of the good services and comforts provided by its staff!

Now, with my experience of travel in it, i’d like to share some tips to travel in this train, to make your journey more enjoyable!

So here they are:

  • Book your ticket in advance, to avoid last minute rush!

  • Opt for seat somewhere in the middle of coach! coz the seats next to doors gets the maximum flow of passengers! and sometimes bad smell too, but thats very rare!

  • If your coach is next to Pantry car, consider yourself lucky (or is it a hard luck?!)

Food will be served to your nostrils first! and the staff will keep bugging you till the end of journey! as they are serving all passengers by crossing in frontof you! but then, you’ll get hottest food served first!

  • Seats next to doors will see maximum rush of fellow passengers in morning for that nature’s call!

But smokers can enjoy the nearness to the doors!

  • In night after dinner and in morning at about breakfast time, be ready to smell the worst farts!!!! most of them are of silent category but are much much more lethal than the ones which gives loud bangs to attract attention!!! at that time, I prefers to make my hanky/towel water-wet and sprays some deo on it and keeps it on my face!

so carry a deo bottle too! :)

  • I guess almost every coach has got those electricity outlets above seats. But use it for your gadgets at your own risk! I tried to charge my mobilephone, and it started giving power on its own, without even switching it ON!!

  • In AC-3 tier, no doubt, the best seat is the lower berth in 3x2 section, but ifthats not available to you, then better opt for the seat with sleeping berth at top! as it has max room for you to move your head, if you can! But if you are of some short height, then the best seat for you is any of the 2 seats in side-row! both of them gives you headroom equivalent to AC-2 tier, I think so!!

  • Carry your own soap (paper or else!) and use bottled water for brushing your teeth and washing your face! I guess, with so many decent facilities, if they provides a small kit containing toothpaste, toothbrush, papersoap, cologne-dipped wet-tissue, etc., it’ll provide travellers with max comfort!

  • If you are among the one who sleeps in night (!!), then better sleep with your head facing towards the passage and legs towards windows! that applies to people in 3x2 seats. IMHO, this’ll provide your luggage a better security!

also the night-walkers like us won’t have to smell your socks while roaming in train in night! :D

  • Keep your sexy mobiles on vibration mode! it works! and it works in a better way!

and donot fix alarms loud enough to wake the train driver! :D

coz youngsters like us goes to sleep when the world is waking up! ;)

  • In last, please do give some cash to the staff coming to you in morning with a tray containing "Saunf" and "Sugar(not Misri though!)"...

they served you so well for some 17 hours, I guess, it is their right to get some additional commendation! so pls keep your ’Tenners’ ready!!

well, I just tried to present it in a light manner, but even then if I hurt anyone ;) ... sorry ! for that it was pure unintentional! :)
