How to destroy your reputation by opening a branch

A verygood case study of a reputation built over decades due to sheer hard work destroyed to shreds by a branch.

Rajdhani at Crawford Market has a reputation as a fine dining hall built by serving great food day in and day out. A place which is forever overcrowded inspite of being located in one of the most congested lanes on Bombay.

In stark contrast is Rajdhani at the INORBIT mall. Ample parking space, comfortable seating in the restaurant and there end the only good things I can say about the place.

We visited the place on a weeknight . Our only expectations were that the food would be of the same high standards that we have associated with Rajdhani Crawford market. Were we in for a disappointment. The service was slow and ineffecient. We had a first time experience of having to call waiters to serve us. The food when served was definately not worth the wait. It was cold and tasteless. The basic dishes in a thali : The dal and khichidi were not up to the mark either. The chapatis were all served cold. The sweet dish was warm and the experience was a disaster.

A normal scenario after a thali meal is loosening of the belt, here we actually came home and ate the food in the house .

The maharajs need to sharpen their skill at the earliest . This experience will now make me think twice before entering the Rajdhani in town though I have always had the most lipsmacking food at that branch on each and every visit.

A reputation built over years by one branch destroyed in minutes by another. Sad very sad. Rajdhani Crawford Market does not deserve this.

If the Malad branch is owned by the same set of people they should work really hard to improve their standards and if its a break in the joint family leading to the use of brand loyalty, sue them for destroying a brand name and the trust built by sheer hard work over decades.
