Not up to the standard!

I had been in Rajdhani Restaurant @ Kalyani Nagar, Pune(Mariplex Mall where Adlabs is located). One of my friend had invited for dinner in there on Jan 6th, 2008 for his birthday.

*Not an authentic Rajdhani food?

I was amazed when I thought that I am going to taste an authentic Rajdhani food.very first time in my life, but I was disappointed for two reasons.

  1. I did like none of the food items served(except that buttermilk!).

  2. All my friends told me that what they served was not authentic Rajdhani food.

*Unlimited Thali without Taste

Almost all the items(roti, subji, buttermilk etc) they serve are unlimited except the sweets, chat-plate. I would call this as an "unlimited thali" without taste.

*Customer Service

Since the waiters do not seem professional and do not wear uniform/rajdhani traditional dress, some people may not feel like they are in a restaurant. This is one of things that I was also disappointed as the atmosphere did not match to the name of the restaurant. I must say that only one person was wearing a Rajdhani’s traditional dress but the dress seemed shrinked and older.

Waiters did not hold fresh look. Everyone was kind of serious. Though they served fast the items we asked.

*Our Birthday Party

*We had brought a cake to cut for which waiters were very kind to help us to unpack and put the cake on a plate. They provided a knife. More over they played a "happy birthday to you" song when our friend cut the cake. This was nice.

Overall, I felt the waiters are doing their job, but just like machines/robots, no reactions or no smiley face or no fresh look or no nice traditional dressings etc.

*Price & Place

*We went on a Tuesday. I think, a thali costs Rs.160 or so on weekdays. But, it will cost you Rs.40 extra on Sundays so you can get unlimited sweets.

Half-Price for Kids?: I am not sure whether they charge half-price for kids, otherwise this place may not be worth if a family of four with couple of kids below age 12 or so.

Ample interior space is available. They can host 90 guests at a time, but on Tuesday we saw tables/chairs for 70 only with large vacant space.

*Conclusion

I would not prefer to visit this place again unless otherwise the taste gets improved. Taste is primary to me.

  • Though there needs improvement in their customer service as well, I was not hurt by their current service.

  • I wish they improve both TASTE and SERVICE for better future!
