Yesterday I just planned to have dinner at Rakabdar, front of Forum Mall. I had heard about it a lot, but never got the chance to actually go there. Me and my friend reached there at 7 as we were v hungry. From the entrance itself, we sensed that the ambience is awesome. We were escorted by a steward through the escalator to the second floor, as first floor wasn’t operational till then. We were obviously the first ones to reach there on a Monday evening. We were very delighted to see the ambience and decor, with lotus theme all around.
Waiter were very courteous, the best I have seen in Bangalore. We started with tomato soup - THE BEST I had ever had. Then we ordered the dahi kabab. I could imagine that people could make such a wonderful dish out of curd. We were served some quantity of dal and pindi chholey with pieces of butter naan and some very tasty curd as complimentary side dish. The presentation was extremely good. We then planned to have the paneer kulcha, malai kofta, and dum pulao imtiazi as main course. Malai kofat was again the best I ever had. Pulao had all the spices in perfect blend, yet it wasnt spicy.
The shahi tukda for the dessert was AWESOME - the best sweetdish I have ever had (too many ever hads, don’t think I never had good food anywhere, but these were REALLY THE BEST ;)) The presentation of shahi tukda was again awesome - served along with pomegranate chutney.
Well altogether I can say one thing - There are very few places on earth which satiate you like this, where you feel like going again and again, which gives you pleasure - Rakabdar is just one of them for sure. I never wrote any reviews for any food joints, but couldn’t resist just writing about this one. People - just try it atleast once and you will know by yourself what I am talking about. Its a bit on expensive side though.
