"Soothing Environment"

Every time it is not possible that the small town has not any tourist attraction sometimes there are many places which people generally avoid because of small town.

Rakaskop is a village near Balgaum about 22 KMS from town centre. It is a good picnic spot reachable by road.

One of my friend is from Belgaum so we decided to visit this place. Belgaum is located in Karnataka.

Bike riding to Rakaskop is an enjoyable outing, passing through green surrounding and small village on the way.

Rakaskop dam is a small dam across Markandyaa river. It is water reservoir providing drinking water to belgaum city this dam is a lifeline for Belgaum city. This Dam is so beautiful there is beautiful garden in surrounding area where people go and relax.

When we asked about this village villagers told us one story that there is one cave like structure on the hillock, which resembles a giant seated human figure it looks like Demon. Villagers say this Rakasa lived in this area so the village got the name Rakaskop.

There are also many popular temples near this dam so people can also go this place. It is beautiful place for But please visit in morning hours.

Thanks.
