"Why? Why, RGV? Why??" These were my first thoughts after seeing this extraordinarily terrible movie. I mean, why would someone even want to take a classic, the most popular movie of its times and one amongst peoples favourites even now and make such a mess of it?
If you wanted fresh faces in a modern setting, you should have limited it to just that. Whats with all the use of "imagination" to replace hands with fingers, Hema Malini with Nisha Kothari of all people and Amzad Khan, the most loved bad guy in Hindia cinema with Big B, who will forever be Jai in peoples mind? Usually I tend to fall asleep during movies which are boring.
But with RGV Ki Aag, I was so depressed by the mockery made out of an all time favourite, that I coudnt do even that. Im just glad that I didnt let my Dad watch this movie. He would have become one of the thousands of enraged and disgusted fans of Sholay.
I agree with the hosts of the 53rd Filmfare Award - Not only Ramesh Sippy, but everyone else who watched this movie should be given a bravery award.
