Being a fan of comedies, and reading that Ramji Londonwale was a comedy, I decided to watch it. Found it to be boring and nothing really funny about it. Madhavan did not come across as a good actor and was not convincing. During sceens which were meant to be sad or pitiful, he did not manage to bring out any emotions in me. He should stop acting in Hindi Movies and stick to tamil movies as he does not seem to have the talent nor the looks for Hindi Flims. The actress sameera too was not natural and seemed to be over-acting in many sceens. The plot was simple, about a Bihari cook who goes to London to to make enough money to pay the dowry promised to his sister’s in-laws. He faces problems there when he reaches London and finds that the person who he was supposed to work for has passed away. He walks around not knowing what to do and gets in a train and fall asleep. When he awakes, he finds that his bag with all his passport, visa and work permit has been stolen, and theres where all the problem starts. However, he sort of saves a child from being knocked down and the parents offer him a job in their restaurant. Then comes the nasty police officer who is just waiting to get his hands on another illegal immigrant and has his eyes on Ramji. However, his employer has a lawyer who together they plan to get Ramji married to a citizen so he will not be considered an illegal immigrant. The whole story was boring, cannot be considered a comedy as there was really nothing to laugh abt. The songs were also lousy, acting was not up to bollywood standards. The only sceen which I enjoyed although just for a couple of minutes was the one where Amitabh made an entrance, he of course as usual stole the screen. Wouldn’t want to watch another Madhavan movie.
