WORSE Experience happened with my mother-in-law who went there for surgery to get an AV fistula.
On the day of the surgery, during the preliminary inspection, Dr. Malay saw the vitals report and instructed to move the patient to OT. Then in OT, after spending a couple of hours, we were told that due to Potassium being high, it was too risky to perform surgery and hence the patient was moved back to the ward. In the vitals report, high traces of Pottasium were mentioned, yet Dr. Malay never bothered to raise a red flag there and the patient had to go through the trauma having not eaten anything from the morning since she was going to be operated on.
This is a hospital operating without any coordination among its departments.
On top of this, now we are struggling to get our refund amount(deposited ₹30, 000). On that day, Poonam(coordinator from the hospital management side) committed to us that we would get in a week time refund of~ ₹28, 700, however after 9 days we got just ₹22, 715 and with no further communication as to when the remaining amount would be credited. She just shared the Billing HOD number with us(Mr. Puneet) leaving us high and dry. This is pure unprofessionalism and I wonder what people who come from villages or towns had to go through while dealing with the hospital management and doctors staff over there.
This review will not be complete without mention of Dr. Pawan who was our coordinator a day before the surgery when we took my mother-in-law to get all her vitals checked. Dr. Pawan told us once the vitals reports were ready to seek approval from Dr. Javed which we did, however on the day of surgery when the whole fiasco happened, on contacting him he just told us that we should have also sought approval from Dr. Prawash Chaudhary.
We, as a public, are not well-versed with the medical terms and solely rely on the doctors and hospital management to provide us seamless experience of consultation, seeking necessary approval from the respective departments so that the patient and her family members dont go through the hassle. However, EXACT OPPOSITE happened at Ramkrishna Care Hospital Raipur on Dec 13th, 2023. Care management should investigate this matter with gravity.
