We started out journey by 5.20AM took Mysore Road route. Even at Sundays 5.00am, mysore highway traffic is tick. You can drive at average 80kmph. As we reached Ramanagar there was hardly any sign of rain. Initially we dint had plan to visit Ramanagar but the morning mist, nice view of fog covered rockhills made as to stop by and enjoy the beautiful landscape view . It was worth visiting at early morning and later we did little trekking to Ramadevarabetta.
Around 7.30 we continued our journey and had breakfast at “Kadamba”. if you visit here you must try puliyogree and sweet pongal. One of the good thing about going to mysore is you no need to worry about food’s, you get a verity of Hotels. Next time I should try “Adigas” newly opened hotel at mandya.
After Mandya about 10km we have to take a Right turn to Reach KuntiBetta. There is a signboard “To Pandava Pura”. KuntiBetta is in PandavaPura has some historical story behind it. we reached Kuntibetta around 9.45, some local people suggested to visit “TonnuruKere” nearby place. We had a lot time so drove first to Tonnurukere, a nice place the lake is spread across 750 plus acer land. There is a temple nearby small hill also top view of lake can be enjoyed.
Note: swimming allowed here at your own risk.
this place is not very much developed, but good from one day outing.
On the way back to Kunti betta we saw a old temple, we dint had much interest to go temples. We asked local people about it. It was a above 1000 year old temple built by a king bittideveraya.
At 11.00 we reached back to kunti betta, checked my odometer I had already clocked 145KM.
We begun trekking making our own way to the top. Half the way I realized it very risk to carry my new cam so went back and kept it in my car. It took almost an hour to reach the top. Enjoyed the view. Continued to explore the place till 3.pm. yeh no lunch and we very hungry.there is no good hotels available surround. its surrounded by villages.
