I visited the Ramoji City with a Hotel Booking in Hotel Sitara, (the in campus premium hotel) through a package.
For Starters: Ramoji Film City is an all inclusive Destination for Film making spread over several hundred acres on the out skirts of Hyderabad on NH-7 leading to Vijayawada. They converted it into a game/ fantacy land in addition to a studio to exploit the resources and to educate public regarding the ART OF FILM Making.
Lots of Films are shot here by Bolly wood and Tolly wood.
The Infrastructure also includes four Hotels for all budgets *with the highest being SITARA which is like a decent 3-Star with good serene surroundings.
The film city is a change from the din and dust of Hyderabad City and a clean and green place. The Basic transport is reasonably decent and the tour guides though not proficient in Hindi/ English are definitely tolerable and often comic.
The efforts by the studio to explain the "in things" of film industry to general public are commendable. The role of Back ground depts like Shooting, direction, playback, background music and dubbing etc are explained in practice.
The 4D show in Ramoji Tower is also good but the "Stunt Show" leaves a lot to be desired. Shows like the Borasura are Over Hyped.
The Items are reasonably priced.
Not a bad experience overall but for the fact that we would have preferred some Night Light and Sound shows for the people who stay back in their Hotels.
They wont allow your own car to run in the city except upto Hotel. The bus system is rigid and o trip basis.
Once a you miss the scheduled bus, you have had it and I suggest they run taxies and pickup costomers and charge for it or allow customer cars at a price.
There are a few indication boards(for walkers) but not enough on the roads for different destinations.
Overall a good place to spend a day or two particularly if you have children around.
