I visited Ramoji film city in Oct 2010. We took tickets costing Rs 1250 each. The package included going around in an ac bus, priority entry to some attractions, lunch, tea and few more freebies thrown in. The place is well wortha visit, though there is not much difference even if one goes for a Rs 400 entry ticket. Just that Rs 1250 gives a slightly better and more relaxed visit experience. The visit to sets is over in about 1 1/2 hours. There are some shows which generally get over by lunch time. The lunch available in eateries is available in all price ranges and is generally good. There are few rides, shows after lunch which keep all entertained. Since everything is in close vicinity, groups can actually split up to go to different shows/rides etc and then catch up later.
Most shows have 3-4 performances per day so be quick to get in at the right time or else wait for next one. Some of must visit shows are Stunt Show, movie Magic (where they show how a movie is made), Dome theater and Spirit of Ramoji. Of these, Spirit of Ramoji is held only in evening and can be given a miss if time is short. Do keep some time spare at the end to visit the gardens which are very well kept.
A whole day is well spent and entertaining for people for all ages. Some adults may find it quite exhausting so carry a bottle of water. It takes a whole day and the journey back is what is more tiring. It is over an hour from Hyderabad on Vijaywada highway.
Well worth a visit.
