Forgive me friends for I beg to differ with the general view on this movie...
I feel that the movie is un-realistic... The main theme of the movie (as I understood) is that people should become revolutionaries and take action rather than sitting quietly... While the theme is OK and is supported by some superlative performances and camera work and direction etc., I feel the act of picking up a gun and killing politicians is not right..
It is against the ethos of the country... Our country where the great Gandhi lived and created a new history... Our country which is known for its non-voilence and non-aggression... Our country where differences are accepted, tolerated and encouraged... Our country where we believe every man is innocent until proved guilty.... Our country where democracy is the way of life...
How can anyone propogate the idea of killing a defence minister for something he may not be responsible for? Everyone knows that the MIG aircraft was procured in an era when Russia was the only country supporting us... When countries like US and its allies were openly in favour of Pakistan...
Everyone knows that the error was not in the procurement of the MIGs but in having so many of them that it is virtually impossible to scrap all of them... If we scrapped all our MIGs, we will have no fleet... How can we face any aggressor then? We need time to replace our fleet of the killer aircraft.... Till such time, we have to keep our men trained on these aircrafts and keep our skies safe...
It is ridiculous to imagine that we will be able to solve problems by picking up the gun... In fact, the sword never helped change things permanently.. Our history and culture have time and again proved that education and value systems building is the best way of creating and re-creating our past glory..
Violent and militant approaches are alien to us... It is way of the barbarians of the west - something that Indians never accepted in the past and never will in the future...
I also disagree that Indian police are brutal and illogical and use force unnecessarily on peaceful processions... I also disagree that our security forces ’’kill’’ without understanding... without being fired upon.... without knowing who the enemy is....
I therefore, disagree with the theme of the movie and therefore I would rate the movie as mediocre....
Super performances from all the cast notwithstanding...
