!! RANG DE BASANTI !!

After a Lot of Wait and with Huge expectations, we entered the theatre with lots of confusion over my Telephone Booking :) and a very eagerly awaited Film Fanatic Indian Crowd, I managed to get hold of my seat in the Theatre.. for this Movie.

As the movie was making Progress, and the story getting unfolded, with sometimes fast pace, sometimes Slow.. A thought cropped up in my mind .. that Rakesh Omprakash Mehra has made some calculations Wrong... with such a fantastic cast to his Forte..

Still I tried to keep an Open Mind and Giving All the credits to some of these scenes and Dialogues.. I kept moving towards the climax.

I was so mesmerized to see the Bike and Car racing scene with Madhavan’s Introduction .. I would say this scene was so full of Youth.. and first time scene on Indian Screen..

I must appreciate Aamir’s acting in the Outburst where he feels, he has ’’no say’’ in this indian system ..and the Idea behind this whole movie striked me ... Till then I was just watching Masti of some friends .. Then I thought ’’O’’ My God .. that means for last 2 Hrs I was just watching some Dil Chahta Hai type of masti .. and where is the story ..

I Dont know whether you get my point or not ..

The Screenplay writer has to Develop his story by now.. Anybody Can show the Masti of College Crowd .. specially when you have Aamir around ... But where is this movie heading exactly ?? I was thinking .... Then I thought Oh yes the director is trying to say these are todays Bhagat Singh and Rajguru .. with Every B&W scene.. OK accepted...

When I came out of the theatre .. I was thinking where exactly Rakesh Mehra went wrong in this movie ?? What could he have presented .. that would have made me Happy ...

With such a nice Base set-up in the movie.. With such a superb Dialogue of Aamir that He loves to stay in the University since he is afraid of stepping out and face the reality ...

I would have really really loved to see what exactly happens to Todays Generation when they Step Out of University ...

I would have loved to see, Aamir and his Guys Fighting against their Conscience, when giving-up on Corruption ..Example: Every Indian would have appreciated to see, what he goes through when he is harrased by an RTO officer for little money... or When he is standing in the never ending Q’s for everything..

Rakesh must came face to face .. Bhagat Singh’s Era was different his problems where different and Today’s Youth Problems are Different ...

He could have shown Todays Youth getting suffocated between Good and Bad .. On one hand our Sanskar Dictate us not to Give Bribe .. and On the Other Hand Todays Youth have to compromise and give bribes... All the values are getting compromised at each and every step and how it is frustrating..

He could have shown whatever is taught in Theory is not in Practical ... the Life out of University is sooo different ..

Another Point I felt was .. I dont want Director to tell me what is Wrong and Right.. Rakesh Mehra should let me understand it my way .. what he wants to convey ...

Eg: Dev Anand .. in Hare Rama Hare Krishna showed.. Zeenat Aman taking Drugs after her Parents Divorce she runs away from house etc.. But When the movie ends, One part inside me, automatically understood that Drugs are WRONG..

Without any golmaal of Black and White .. I should understand who is representing Bhagat Singh and Rajguru .. and and and their lies the skill of the director and story writer.. Let the audience decide what Director wants to tell ...thats the Skill..

Rakesh Mehra directed all the comic moments like a Video Album (Since he was a Video Album directior earlier) that hampers the movie .. except the ’’Yaar yeh tou Hindi Bol rahi hai’’ scene I dont remember the comic moments anymore.. BECAUSE they were not SCENES ?? After Dil Chahta Hai I could remember every Comic moment since they were Narrated through proper scenes..

Songs are GREAT (Roobaroo song wasted in movie)

Alice Pattern (SUE) and Sharman Joshi were lovely...

Generation will awaken if you try to show or try to respect the problems they are facing TODAY... the way they have to compete in very short time, how they want EVERYTHING in so little time.. their pressure .. their fight with corruption ..and this movie had created that BASE completely but went out of the place with the narration

In the end .. I must say Rakesh Omprakash Mehra is a very Promising director and it was a very well Intentioned movie.. but it lacked the punch and I was Disappointed..
