Sarfaroshi ki tamannaa ab humare dil mein hai...

Yesterday (i.e. 29th January) I went and watched Rang de Basanti. I came out of the theater speechless. Only one question was constantly appearing in my mind....can bollywood really come up with a movie like this? May be in recent times I had underestimated bollywood’s capacity of coming up with good films..So first of all...my apologies to everyone in this film industry!!

Now about the movie.....

Too good.....i liked every aspect of RDB. The acting, the dialogues, the songs, the scenes....everything!

The direction by Mr. Mehra is mind blowing. The movie flows very smoothly between past and present. The comparison between the times of the british raj and today is a brave attempt and is portrayed brilliantly. The enemy has changed, situation however remains the same.

The acting was fabulous by everyone. It was also good to see that the roles were suitably given. For example....I was expecting Aamir Khan to do the role of Bhagat Singh but it was good to see that he was not given that role. What I mean to say is that he does not overshadow the other actors in the film. At no point in the film you feel that Aamir is the lead actor. Sharman Joshi’s comedy timing is really good. Soha ali khan portrays a young Delhi girl vey nicely, Siddharth is cool as a cucumber and Kunal Kapur is awesome. Atul Kulkarni is at his best. Madhavan....though not in the movie for a long time...(in flesh and blood at least...) is very smart as an air force pilot.Waheeda Rehmaan, Kiron Kher, Om Puri also do justice to their respective roles. Alice is also very good....’’aur woh badi achchi Hindi bol leti hai yaar!!’’

The Dialogues are also nice.....Atul Kulkarni’s audition for the Role of Bismil is very good...it earns him an applause from the audience. Aamir Khans Haryana style Hindi is great...

To end this review....

Hats off to the revolutionaries. Hats off to the people in the armed forces. Hats off to Rakesh Mehra and his team for attempting this film. Kudos to A.R Rehman and his music. All in all a great film to go and watch.

I have also written this as a response to some review on this site,

writing a ’’Review’’ sitting in a cyber cafe or at home is easy....But living the life of Bhagat Singh and his fellow revolutionaries or joining the armed forces and dying for your country or even something like marrying somebody who is in the armed forces....now that requires courage!

Really hope that people, the youth especially (that is me too!), does not just forget about this film. something needs to be done.....and soon!!

Zindagi toh apni mehmaan Maut ki mehfil mein hai,

Sarfaroshi ki tamannaa ab humare dil mein hai....

Dekhna hai zor kitnaa baazuae kaatil mein hai....
