To Whom Ever It May Concern
Hello my name is Bhavya today was the first time I used Rapido, I came to know about it through the mouth to mouth publicity.
I downloaded the app cause it was rush hour and I wanted to reach on time and also wanted to test the new app as my friends recommended.
I downloaded the app signed up had a referral which I used, the distance I had to travel was 6kms for which Ola/Uber cab etc may take around 200rs and a normal cab would take anywhere around 125-150, for this uber bike would charge around 50rs.
But when I opened Rapido and select the location of pick up and drop it showed only 20rs I was shocked I properly checked the pickup and drop again and refreshed it still showed it was because of a new customer that I got a 25rs discount on the overall trip, I was amazed by the price was happy instantly book the ride.
The rider was 7 min away was on time, I sat on the bike gave the OTP and he started the trip, this was my trip from the office to the destination.
After my work got over I had to return to the office so just I check I opened the app and checked the prices I thought the discount would be there for only the first trip I showed only 27rs for a return trip, I instantly booked the ride return on my way back to the office. I out of curiosity had some questions about Rapido so I started asking questions to the driver and he politely answered all my questions dropped me near my office and went.
After using the app for the first time and talking to the driver, I saw some points where the brand needs some improvement which I am sharing below:
1- The app is not working properly: Sometimes the app lags I couldnt book a ride easily and had close the app many times and open it again, it took too much effort(IOS user) and even the driver complained about the app as he has to always check the app to start the ride and end the ride the apps lag very much(he said).
As the app lags too much a frustrated customer may close the app and choose some other service over Rapidos services.
2- Discounts- Rapido in a competitive market has to give a discount.
That is right, its a marketing strategy but your discount strategy is favorable to a customer but not the bike riders as they are making a loss on their income due to discounts given by Rapido.
The company has to bear discounts and not the rider.
3- Problems because of discounts- Riders are leaving Rapido and signing up for other competitive apps where they get the proper price for their services.
As riders are leaving day by day wait times for customers are increasing which is a negative impact, riders are using other apps with Rapido and preferring booking on other apps instead of Rapido as they provide a good income, what Rapido is doing is greatly beneficial to the consumers but not favorable to riders and somewhere companies.
