I visited Rasam( name sounds very interesting) which is a fine dining restaurent from SriKrishna Sweets( Famous chain of sweets and savouries) in Chennai for lunch today. The restaurent is in 2nd floor of the Hotel Shabari’s Nest at RK Salai. It’s another in the list for the fine dining SouthIndian Restaurents in Chennai .
It’s a complete veg restaurent.
There was nothing great in the ambience, its just a big AC hall filled with tables and chairs.
Talking about the service, I found two female hostess and couple of stewards. Yes they do welcome you with a smile on their face, and I was really impressed with that. The order too did not take much time to be on our table and the crew members took care that our glass is always filled with water.
Menu: It contains authentic Kongunaadu(Typical South Indian) food, so If you are not a great lover of the south indian recipies then this is not the place for you to be.
Price: The pricing was bit above average. I ordered a normal South Indian Meals which costed me 150 Rs+ taxes. Although the serving is big. Even a normal dosa here costs 70 Rs.
They also had two musicians playing Table and Flute, which was bit different from rest of the restaurents in the city.
Parking is a problem here, so if you visit make sure to get ample sapce to park you car.
So If you are fond of SouthIndian delicacies and want to taste authentic South Indian food, you can probably think of visiting RASAM.
