Lacks Business Ethics and Scams Customers

I’m posting this here because I’m fed up of receiving template answers via email. My Case ID: 28780827.

My problem is very simple, I paid a lumpsum amount towards the closure of my personal loan in March 2021.

On 18th March 2021, I received a call from RBL Bank stating that I have to pay an additional sum of Rs. 1, 384 and then raise another request via email to reinitiate the closure.

I immediately paid the amount on the same day and sent an email to cardservices@rblbank.com and customercare@rblbank.com on 22nd March 2021 at 02:06 PM.

On 14th April I received a new bill for my loan account and when I contacted the RBL Bank regarding this, they replied after 10 days and said the loan was not closed and if I wish to close it, I must pay an additional amount of Rs. 1, 256.

They further said that they did not receive any closure email on 22nd March 2021 which is why they did not close the loan.

Firstly, I don’t understand why do I need to write another email after making immediate payment for the same foreclosure request.

Anyways, assuming this was a technical error, I sent them a PDF of the entire email trail but instead of acknowledging the mistake and apologizing for it, RBL Bank remained adamant and sent a template response asking for more money.

I think malpractices are quite prevalent in RBL Bank and they’re just trying to extort money from its customers one way or another. Customers’ satisfaction is the last thing on their list of priorities.

I want to warn all the customers to not fall into their trap and do. not opt for their Credit Card or Personal Loan services. They’ll trap you and try to extract every last bit of your hard-earned money.

I’m planning on suing them in the honorable court if I don’t receive an immediate resolution to my request. It’s not a question of Rs. 1, 256 but of business ethics that this corrupt bank lacks and needs to be taught.

If anyone else has faced something similar before, please get in touch. I’ll help you exposing this money eating monster disguised as a "bank"
