RDX Robert Dony Xavier promised to be a gripping action thriller in the trailers. But unfortunately, the film fails to deliver on both story and performances.
The plot about an army officer turning rogue had potential but the screenplay is patchy and executed poorly. There are too many logical loopholes and convenient coincidences that reduce the impact. After an interesting first half, the movie loses steam with a predictable and dragged climax.
Ravi Teja has good screen presence but his character lacks depth or relatability as the villain. The romantic track with Anushka adds no value. Payal Rajput has nothing worthwhile to do. The Army characters played by R Madhavan and Divyansha Kaushik are not well etched out.
The action sequences also look too stylized and lack realism. The background score is jarring and annoying at times. The exotic foreign locations dont feel justified as per the story. The direction needed more grip to elevate the flawed writing.
Overall, RDX is a missed opportunity as it had the seed of a gripping thriller but the sloppy execution fails it. From story, action to performances, it does not come together as a satisfying cinema experience. I would not recommend watching this even for diehard Ravi Teja fans, unless you go with zero expectations.
