Reader’s digest is monthly magazine very popular among the beginners of English. Being myself a subscriber of it for over two year I think I have known enough about the magazine in order to write a review about it.
I found reader’s digest as good only when you are a neophyte in English. But when it comes to serious exam oriented preparation of english, it is just not enough.
The jokes, real life experiences discussed are hilarious & are handy when you just want to take sometime off the work. One of the best things about this magazine that it contains information or I should say atleast one topic from almost every field ( broad category : medical, forensic , weather, etc.). Overall I would rate readers’ digest a magazine targeted at not so serious english lovers.
It is not very useful for exam oriented approach as a sole list 20 uncommon & very rarely used words are not okay for the sort of preparation that is needed. This very thing has now forced me to unsubscribe the magazine after two years of reading.
