I still am not very sure if this is the appropriate category to post my review/article. However, since theworst writers andworst reviews category is disabled for posting reviews, so I chose this one. Nevermind the category as long as someone is reading this review/article.
The fact that till date I have posted only one article on Mouthshut does not mean that I am not interested in Mouthshut. I am a regular visitor of the site. Although neither any member, nor any other reader is benefited by my silent and secret visits on this site, as neither I rate any review nor do I write any comments. But today I happen to come across two-three such articles on the site that I was forced to write this small article. No preaching, no lectures just a small request… to all the ‘englisss’espeaking, reading and writing members of mouthshut.com
Without any prejudice, and no names to be quoted, please enjoy the following lines handpicked from some ‘LIVE’ articles of mouthshut.com:
“But as a neighbour we have to have a good relationship with this country but as history tells us, we dont have anything of that sort only thing India and Pakistan end up doing is keeping meetings and meetings and peace process continues, ”
“People in Orrisa and many parts of the country still die without Food shame on us when we have burgers sitting in the AC, Goonda Mawali guys would do everything in the world to impress there girl friends, Have they done something good to there Parents?., Morals, we say we are morals and what not, Where is it when Girls are sold, Girls made to become a protitute, They are exploited, Still we have dowry systems exist, We say that we are Secular and Unity and Diversity, ”
“We love to watch and get scared by Horror movies but have we ever believed in God, have we ever seen a Mythological movie, You know we are materialistic people, Dhananjay is an example of todays teenagers and even I am, He wanted the coolest bike why, JUST SHOW OFF. Do we care and POPULATION.”
(… Good examples to be included in the next edition of ‘Eats, shoots and leaves’)
More to come…
“Then we went in with the luggage, You know the people who are not passengers naa, they have to take Platform Ticket like in Trains but here also airport is very mahenga and it was written Rs.30, good thing was since all 4 of us were travelling hence we didnt pay anything. I toh na find these articles such funny naa that I just cant tell you. I toh kept laughing and laughing just like you.
I’m pretty sure you must be confused as to what do I want to say. Very simple – Does it strike to the keen and upcoming writers, our beloved faithful and useful members of https://mouthshut.com, that they could not only use this portal as a ‘launch pad’ for their ‘thought pads’, but also as an opportunity to hone their writing skills. It is not at all a bad idea to write your reviews on MS Word(or any user friendly text editor) for automatic grammatical corrections. This would not only save the writers the pain of manual correction(for the ones who do manual correction) but also help avid readers like me in understanding writer’s point.
I am quite surprised that Mouthshut, where promotes members to post more and more articles and reviews, does not have any check on the quality of articles coming in. I can appreciate that it is easier said than done and that it is practically not possible to keep a check on Internet postings. But at least keep some more stringent checks for the ‘Star Writers’, apart from the number of articles they post and number of ratings and comments they get.
So, come on all you star and starter writers of Mouthshut.com, don’t just add thoughts to your articles; add some heart and soul, and some grammar, and some spellings too. Don’t let your articles just be coming straight from your tongue but let something also add up from the brains as well(n how about dictionary too!).
Happy writing… and happy reading.
P.S: Just as I was posting this review/article I saw this friendlyrequest/suggestion on the left panel of my screen - • Check your grammar and punctuation. Please pay some attention to the humble suggestion/request.
