Terrorism as we see it

’’ One mans terrorist is another mans freedom fighter ’’ - Anonymous

11 sep. 2001 was shocking . That day terror was unleashed onto America . Terrorism was no longer contained as the small rebellions fighting for their cause . Sep 11 had changed the definition of terrorism , and the perception as well .

Period .

on 7/7 terrorism conquered a new territory . after spain it was eventual and feared . The London blasts have shocked Britain esp with the perpetrators being their own youth of muslim origin . The British govt. has mostly denied the incidents link to its iraq policy but everyone knows about that .

Terrorists and Terrorism

Are these people evil ? are they born villains ? the perpetrators of 7/7 were absolutely normal (cool) londoners until they blew themselves up .

and then look at Iraq : Any given day read the news of bomb blasts in Iraq , any London looks like just a small incident . Is that America’s terrorism as well then , in Iraq and Afganistan ?

A fresh look

Lets forget about what we think of terrorists for a moment . Lets divide people into 2 . One who have their daily routine lives - the innocents and the ones who are highly motivated for their cause - the extremists . The terrorists fight for revenge , for nemesis ; the Americans IN THE NAME of democracy and human rights . Terrorists blow up and kill masses , tear families , disrupt nations . But mind me , if that is terrorism then just one look at Iraq today will tell us who the bigger terrorist are . But they call it the fight for democracy .

America and Iraq

Democracy has been restored in Iraq . People have been freed from Saddam Husseins tyrannic rule . Victory for humanity ? Saddams Iraq was , any given day much better than the present ’democratic’ Iraq which has been ruthlessly left in chaos by america .

Difference in Perception

Osama Bin Laden is treated a hero . He represents the people whose lives have been ruined , crushed and suppressed because of Americas capital ambitions . They have grown up in bloodshed , chaos and complete mayhem . Now they’ve come to level the field by giving us the taste of lives they ’ve lived . What we call terror was these peoples way of life . How can we expect to stay insulated , live in comfort , when our own policies directly or indirectly are causing such havoc ? For these people terrorism is a way of expression , of the sufferings they faced .

In the world we live , George Bush leads the heroic war ’ good against the evil’ . We perceive him to be good , sound policies . America’s democratic foreign policies are well creating enough chaos in the world . No , I am not criticizing democracy . I am only trying to shun the rhetoric - ’’ the war against terrorism ’’ ; ’’ The good against evil .’’

Democracy doesnt advice kill innocent people , neither does Islam . It is the war of extremists , with greed and power on one side and revenge and destruction on the other .

So is it really Good against the Evil ? I would say it is Evil against Evil . and the ’greater evil’ will dominate .

Unsafe world isnt it ?

History has been full of wars and clashes , our world has never been safe . It has only become much more dangerous now . Unfortunately history has gone this way , there is no utopian era .

Remembering the 7/7 London Blasts

The blasts shocked London . But that was not the first time they have occured . They occur everyday much worse in Iraq . There are innocent people everywhere . there were in london , so are there in Iraq and Afganistan . We mourned the ones in London , but it is a pity we dont carry much concern over the daily news on iraq blasts , do we ?
