I recently booked ticket through red bus and I was very happy with the service. In fact, I was very happy to receive timely and customer friendly service. Here are the examples of how they went above and beyond the next door bus agent
I called them and gave them the specifications. They replied in an hours time with list of options. Very rarely do I get timely service in Bangalore.
They gave me free home delivery as I bought 8 tickets in one go
I had to cancel few of my tickets in <12 hours of schedule journey. They told me very clearly that they will try best but will only cancel if there is somebody else who wants it. I did not have much hope. But they did cancel my ticket and refunded 90% of the value of the ticket in the form of cash coupons that I can use for my next travel ( valid for 6 months). Pleasantly surprised!
Now this is what made me write this review - As I had made last minute changes I had to take print out if the new e-ticket. Because that day Bangalore was recovering from the serial bomb blast a lot of shops were closed. I only had 30 min to catch the bus but did not have any way to take print out. I called the red customer care and asked if they could help me in any way. I asked them if I can travel on my old ticket and ill let the bus service provide know the new bus ticket number.
And to my surprise they said yes. Of course it is a very simple and sensible solution. They did not have anything to loose. But what I liked was they were so considerate and co-operative. Most of the time I have experienced that either the customer care do not want to help or do not have ability to help you or do not have authority to go beyond the rules/ guidelines given
Overall I was very impressed with the service and recommend it to everyone
