I booked a ticket of KB travels through redbus. The bus was suppose to start from Nagpur on 15th Nov 2015 at 6.15 PM and reach Pune by 8.30 AM on 16th Nov 2015.

Normally, the cost of Non-A/c seater+sleeper is Rs 800 from Nagpur to Pune. During Diwali season, bus operator increases it to 2500 to 4000.
Here’s how the journey started.
From boarding point(near Nagpur bus station) the bus started at 7 pm.It stopped in Ravinagar which is 1 km from starting point and loaded cargo on Bus for 2.5 hours. So, it started from Nagpur at 9.30 pm which was 3.5 hours late than the actual departure time.
The passengers were asked to sit in the seat other than which they booked. The sleeper space was for one but two persons were asked to accommodate in that space. Bus stopped in Ravi Nagar for an hour and Cargo was loaded on the bus. From Ravi nagar(Nagpur) bus started at 9.30 pm. Driver was drunk. Around 4 am when the passengers were asleep, bus cleaner was allowed to drive the bus. He is not trained for driving bus and do not hold a licence.Also, this bus caused accident with a car. This we got t know in the morning around 7 am from the passengers seated in Cabin. During the course of journey, bus stopped 3 times due to mechanical/technical problems.25 kms before Aurangabad, the bus came to halt as the Gas kit of the bus burst and engine was covered in smoke and could catch fire anytime.
All the passengers rushed out of bus and we went to nearby police station to complain about the bus service and the happenings. Police helped us by asking the owner to arrange another Bus. There was no sense of responsibility from owner and spoke very arrogantly over call.
We were asked to travel again in the same Bus till Aurangabad and to board a Non-A/c seater bus from Aurangabad till pune. We paid Rs.2500 each for sleeper birth but had to travel in a seater Bus. We were suppose to reach Pune by 8.30 AM on 16th Nov 2015 but reached at 5.30 pm.
Please do not book tickets from KB tours and Travels - Nagpur and do not use redbus to book tickets.
After multiple follow ups with redbus, they told to have contacted bus operator but he denied refund.
Here are the highlights of the journey from Nagpur to Pune.
1.The bus started 3.5 hours late from departure point.
2.Cargo was loaded on the bus which is illegal for bus carrying passengers.
3.The bus condition was such that it was not meant for long journey of 12-13 hours.
4.Driver was drunk and also was not aware of the route from Nagpur to Pune.He stopped bus many times to know the route from locals.
5.Bus stopped multiple times due to technical/mechanical problems.
6.Cleaner was allowed to drive the bus, putting passenger’s lives at stake.
7.When the gas kit of bus burst near Aurangabad, we had to go to nearby police station to get another bus arranged.
8.The other bus which was arranged was a seater bus from Aurangabad to Pune.Booked sleeper birth from Redbus but had to travel in seater bus.
9.Commitment was to arrive in pune at 8 am but reached at 5.30 pm due to which couldn’t report to office that day and had to suffer escalation and bad name in office.
10.Lost leave for a day.
11.Suffered health problems due to 24 hours travel in a bus. Actual journey is of 12-13 hours.
There are few questions I have for redbus.
1.We trust redbus brand and does it allow anyone to register on its portal and start travel services, we can’t further trust redbus brand.
2.Redbus do not have any liability or responsibility towards such fraudulent behavior of travel services?
3.Do redbus play with lives of passengers just to earn money during peak season and don’t care about public safety and services provided?
4.Just saying that the operator will not make such mistake again will solve the problem?
5.Refund of Rs 500 out of Rs. 2500 is a legible compensation?
