I have tried using Redbus first time on 10-May-14, I have booked ticket from Ahmedabad to Pune with Prasana Purple travel. Now read what I have gone through.
The ticket was booked without any issue, but when I have looked at the same bus and tickets availability again on Redbus website, THE SEAT I HAVE BOOKED WAS STILL SHOWING AS AVAILABLE. I was surprised and worried.
To confirm, I have called up Prasanna Purple travel on Pune office, the reply I have got it that THERE IS NO SUCH TICKET BOOKED ON my name with the seat number I have got from Redbus.
I have got SMS from Redbus, about the ticket confirmation and phone numbers of Ahmedabad office. I have tried all 5 numbers given in the SMS to contact Prasana Purple or whoever the counter part in Ahmedabad. Another surprise I have got is that ALL NUMBERS GIVEN WERE WRONG, CAN YOU BELIEVE ALL OF THE NUMBERS WERE WRONG?
I was shocked! Then I have tried to call Redbus helpline numbers, looking atContact us page on Redbus website, I have started with Pune number and then tried Ahmedabad, Mumbai and Bangalore office numbers. I have tried to contact Redbus for ALOMOST 45 MINUTES on various different numbers but NO ONE PICKED UP PHONE ON ANY OF THE HELPLINE NUMBERS give on website. On top of that, Bangalore office number given on website 080-394123455 is WRONG(see attached image)
After 1 hour of struggle, finally I have decided to cancel the ticket, but my trouble was not over yet. When I tried to cancel my ticket on website, it shown me error message that this ticket cannot be cancelled online, call helpline for cancel the ticket. So I have again started calling them but same result. After another 15 minute, I have tried to see my ticket online, I have got another surprise, website shown me that my ticket is cancelled!
In conclusion, I have paid Rs.170 as cancellation charge and fees to learn that never ever use Redbus service in my life. I was absolutely cheated.
Whoever reading this review, I urge you to never use this service for the following reasons:
There is no guarantee that your ticket is actually booked even if you get the SMS and e-mail confirmation. You may end fighting with bus operator at the time of departure
All bus operators listed on Redbus have their own webiste and interface to book the ticket online, there is absolutely no need to use Redbus, they are not giving you any discount or extra service.
There is no existence of customer service or support. There ae phone numbers for each major cities but no one will pick your phone.
