My bus got delayed by six hours due to bandh. So I asked redbus to give me some refund as the ticket was very costly (during diwali) as I had to reach my destination in time I planned to take a different route. The travels from which I planned to travel, their head office said that they are willing to give the refund but the redbus people insisted that the ticket cannot be cancelled due to their cancellation policy. Also they cannot provide me an alternate ticket for next day or from a different source.
Every time I called redbus, a different operator responded to my call, they had no intercommunication among them and several times, the phone operators disconnected my call during the conversation. They always tell they will call you back with a possible solution but they never call you back. So my advise is to book tickets through travel agents as they can provide with alternate arrangements in case the bus gets delayed or cancelled. Redbus is just a way to make people and doesn’t care for passengers convenience at all.
