Rs 599 for MP3 players, 1 grand for 2 GB USb drives or DVD players, 2 grand for a suite on sunset
boulevard & 100 bucks for that Aston Martin- spurious claims that sometimes jerk you out of that
slumber. Wow great deals for steals! BEWARE.
Last year I had hit upon the concept of safe and wise online shopping. People shop online for 3 basic reasons-
Shopping/splurging without any physical trouble. No running. Stuff is delivered at your doorstep.
Compulsive buying. Credit Cards tickle you. You gotta spend.
The product is not available locally.
Most sites- and mostly REDIFF SHOPPING/AUCTION and ebay should be totally avoided. Dont fall for those claims at all. My freind bought an 1 GB MP4 player for 1800 bucks from rediff- A fab looking gizmo as shown on rediff site a few days ago. What he got was a cheap useless, Indonesian made junk that even a pauper wouldnt touch! It was the polar opposite of what had been promised. This is just one small example.
While the seller is a cheat- REDIFF or EBAy is a bigger cheat or fraud. They make money and keep their hands clean. One never gets to know the real nature of the product until one has paid and got locked. No wonder that fab looking home theatre system for 5000 bucks turns out to be a Rs 500 job from the streets of Delhi/Noida or even worse China/Bangaldesh.
It happens with most of the products these sites offer. Electronics, garments, CDs, one should avoid these sites to curb unwanted losses. Simply dont fall for those catchy offers- They are not true. They are not true cuz you cant verify phisically until you have shelled out the money. Smart isnt it?
My adivse? Never buy from REDIFF or EBAY type sites who network with shady smugglers and dealers. You never know what youll end up with. Cheap price for nothing is what you get. that makes it expensive-
In contrast FABMALL is rather decent.
