After incurring courier charges in sending back the faulty tire inflator to the vendor in Delhi, the web site finally accepted their liability and reversed the amount @ Rs.649/- into my card a/c on 28/6/11.
Its a lesson learnt for me, thankfully at not that high a cost...!
Rest of you, beware as what is displayed is definitely NOT what is dispatched to you and the same goes for almost all web sites, exceptions excluded.

Hi,
On the 18th of May 11, I bought a 250 w tire inflator + tubeless tire repair kit free, from a vendor listed on rediff site. Delivery was prompt, the very next day but the product was an absolute dud! Against the rated 10mins running, the motor conked out when I tried to increase the tire pressure in one tire from 29psi to 32psi!! The wires got very hot to the touch and it just stopped after around 3 mins operation. So much for the 250 w claim. Its a flimsy plasticky thing with a small motor (sort of like what we use for school projects and in Ganpati decorations - turning thermocol wheels...)
rediff has disclaimers in place so they are in this just to make a quick buck and let the buyer take his own chances with the product offered.
All marked down products are invariably FAKE and genuine products, if any, are cheaper at your local market vendor.
