After usa.net announced that they were becoming a paid service from 31st July, I decided to get a new account. I first went to 123india.com but didnt register - a good thing as e-mail at 123india is also becoming a paid service from next week. I then registered at rediff.com, where they claim to have Lightening Fast E-mail. (So does timesofindia.com/indiatimes.com but they are not part of this review).
I have sent three mails to them requesting for some clarifications/help in the profiling. Till date they have not responded. Mails were sent through the Contact Us link you have after you log in. I have also mailed Mr. Balakrishnan, regarding this (the CEO thanks Mickey), but no response either from him till the time of writing this review. Also, I pointed out that mails sent are bouncing back with a time out message. My wife sent a mail on 7th July 2001, and I received that on 10th July 2001. So much for Lightening Fast E-mail and customer care, and a company having ADRs Incidentally I think there was also an article stating that rediff may sell their database - what about privacy???!!
