Huge Marketing Scheme

Regus is a total sham. They appear very professional, show you lovely offices, and give you "special deals" that you can’t resist. Then you move into your office space. The furniture isn’t the furniture you saw as you browsed on the tour, the nice decor is removed, and you are left with cheap furniture. Ok so not that big of a deal (at least it is provided) Then you get your first statement that has a charge for everything you can imagine- kitchen, phone, long distance, etc. Be prepared, if you need phone/internet/parking/long distance...add anywhere from $200-$300 onto your monthly total. They promised me use of the conference room for free as long as I scheduled in advance- I asked specifically about weekends and was assured I could use as long as I brought clients up to the office as the elevators are locked for our floor over the weekend.

No problem, I can walk them up....go to book the room and they are going to charge $50 an hour! I’m not surprised considering they charge for everything which is where they really make their money. So the $600 office I budgeted for ends up being anywhere from $1050/month to $1100/month. So I decide to give my notice that I will not renew my lease, am then informed that I will be charged $2 per square foot for cleaning and repainting my office which it totally doesn’t need. THEN they also charge an extra fee for forwarding your mail for three months (even if you don’t need it) and they charge about $250/month mandatory- really? Essentially you pay an extra month or two with the b.s. they add on the end. And IF you DO decide to renew your lease- they increase your rent 10-15% mandatory- no negotiating, rent will raise each year.

The funny thing...I was offered my office at $499/month and I got online and saw them offering my office for $250/month. That makes no sense- they are going to lose my higher rent to someone they are going to charge LESS? Not to mention it burns me each time I see them doing a tour around the office month after month using the same "we have a special if you sign right now pitch".

Yeah Regus looks good on the outside but totally different from the inside. There are much better deals available with company’s who actually VALUE their clients
