I was using Reliance Broadband for around 3 years. In November, due to public works near our area, the cables got cut as it was set up illegally by Reliance Broadband without the permission of Pune Municipal Corporation. Suddenly our internet got disconnected, and there was no response for more than a day. We contacted the customer care and they mentioned this problem would be solved within 48hrs. We waited and after 4 days, we get to know, that cables have been cut and it wont be back to normal for a long time.
We immediately gave request for termination of services, as we knew that Reliance is very good at extracting out money from the customers. The response from Customer Care was that, "Sir, please do not terminate your connection. It will be back to normal."
But thankfully, I knew some people in the technical department and they mentioned to disconnect it immediately as Reliance would continuously charge the rental despite disconnection. So I got the connection terminated on 2nd November, 2012. It was a shock and after repeated calls and calling the VP desk, we got our refund after nearly 6 months on 27th March, 2013.
Later, Reliance came upto my uncles place and set up a new Reliance Broadband connection for them. It was a 1Mbps plan. The connection was working fine till February when an outage happened in the entire country and since then till today, ie 25th April, 2013, I havent got any download speeds beyond 300kbps. And Reliance has been quite prompt in taking the rentals from us, in spite of the pathetic service. The customer care had no shame in telling us that there wont be any refund from them, and I got to know that the condition of the network will persist till June, 2013.
Again, a picture of how Reliance and Anil Ambani have been duping common people, by showing attractive offers and Anushka Sharma to its customers.
