I brought this reliance net connect high speed data card (works like a 1990’s dial-up though) recently. My suggestion to people is "please don’t buy this useless card". It is not worth even 1 rupee. Anybody when buying a data card looks for two basic things. 1. Connection speed 2. Customerservice. This product scores absolute zero in both of them. I could have adjusted even if the customer service is bad, but the very service that this product is supposed to provide i.e. Connectivity is only horrible.
Like all other reliance products (those cell phones if you remember, then that big tv etc) this product also is cheating consumers and pity no one cares about it. Now comes the best part and most official cheating by a big business house in india. Just recently i decided to get the connection disconnected for sometime since i was going out of country. I called those customer service people (after much difficulty though) and was informed if i disconnect the connection, the equipment will be invalid. That is to say if i need to re-activate it, i need to buy a new equipment. (what the heck!). Now you read on the most important part. If need to avoid the equipment being invalid, i need to pay "safe custody" amount of rs 115 every month. Mind you, the sales person did not tell me anything about this at the time of buying the equipment.now i know why these reliance companies are making so much profits and their owners are able to build palaces. With poor consumers money!
I would suggest consumers to buy tata photon which is very good in atleast connectivity. And trust me, it doesn’t have this safe custody bullshit rule. You can activate or deactivate anytime you want. (for my bad luck, i found out that today only. They put a stall in our company and got it confirmed from the executive there).
