On Saturday, April 12th, I purchased Hitachi Kaze 1.5ton Split AC from Reliance Digital.
The installation technicians came on Tuesday, April 15th for installation. Since the distance between the indoor unit and the placement of External Unit required more copper tubes, the technician bought copper tubes, insulator foam, MCB and other required material from the open market.
The "so called" technicians took more than 6 hours to install both units and left at night by 9.30. I was busy with my client meetings and could not attend guys during installation work.
They asked me for Rs 6175 for the cost of material and wrote the cost of material at a piece of paper when I asked for a proper bill. When I asked for a proper bill, they said that the guy will charge VAT. This is the most disgusting part. Who knows what is the actual cost of the material? I had to run back to the client meeting hence I quickly paid them the money and did not have the time to properly look at the work at night.
The next day we ran the unit for more than 2 hrs but it worked only as if a fan is working. The cooling wasnt happening at all.
I took a closer look at the piping and installation and realized the horrible installation work. The copper tubes were not properly wrapped in the insulator foam and was coming out of it at most part of the length.
1) I paid more than 6000 for the material and all they did is a patch job where the copper tubes is not even covered for most part of the length.
2) There was no bill for the extra material they asked me to pay.
Above all, when I called Hitachi, they informed me that Hitachi will not provide any free service. They had an agreement with Reliance that Reliance will provide the service for the product. While purchasing the product, the reliance team did not even disclose this at the time of purchase.
Now I am completely dependent on the pathetic service quality of Reliance Digital.
