All those who are residing in the Mumbai suburbs have to deal
with BSES Limited for all their electric supply needs which are provided by BSES Limited. In South Mumbai the electric service provider is BES&T Undertaking and outside greater Mumbai limits and in rest of Maharashtra is MSEB.
The electric service provided by BSES Limited is good and they have offices in all the suburbs so that you can conveniently pay your bills, lodge your complaints and meet officials to sort out your problem.
I have a flat in Goregaon (West) and BSES Limited is the electric service provider. I do not occupy the flat and it is lying vacant, therefore the electric meter consumption reading are zero. The BSES should have charged me the minimum rates but they in their wisdom started charging me a rate for a fixed consumption of 100 units. I visited their office and complained regarding the same. I had to lodge a complaint in writing and they said they would get my complaint verified and take action accordingly. I had complained six months ago but I am still being still charged for the 100 units. On visiting them again last month they intimated that they have verified the facts and credit will be given to me in my March
bill which is still to be received.
BSES carry out social welfare measure in the suburbs. They are along with BMC constructing a state of the art hospital in Andheri. They have undertaken beautification of parks and public places, providing of Balwadis and assisting voluntary organising Ambulance services.
BSES has a subsidiary called BSES Telecom which is engaged in providing Telecommunication and Information Technology services in the suburbs. They provide internet services in Mumbai and propose to use their optical fibre network to provide a reliable and high speed internet service.
