Overcharging and dangerous too....

I recently visited the Reliance Fresh store at Jagatpuri - Delhi and found that they are still overcharging on some popular products. e.g. Britannia Cheese slab MRP Rs. 100 but Reliance Fresh bargain price Rs. 112. Kellogs Corn Flakes MRP Rs. 125 but Reliance Fresh bargain at Rs. 130. On pointing out to the store superviser they express their inability to help as it is all system driven by computer and they can not change anything.

So if you are not careful enough to compare the MRP and the price displayed on shelf or charged by them then you may be fleeced.

As I was walking out of the store something hit my forehead and I fell down the flight of 4 steps, I somehow got up to find that I was bleeding from my forehead and what caused it was partially pulled down store shutter on top of the staircase which was fully open 5 minutes earlier when I had entered the store.

It was pitch dark outside as they had no lighting on the exit gate moreover I was looking down at the stairs when getting down, I could not see the dark steel shutter(half pulled down) as it also got mixed with the darkness outside.

When I asked for the manager of the store I was told that he rarely comes to the store and the staff on duty had no authority to provide any kind of help to me. They also refused to acknowledge a copy of written  incidence report. They kept insisting that it was my fault that I was looking down at stairs and did not see the partially closed steel shutter. On asking why it was partially closed, the said because it was closing time and they did not want any customers to come in. When I asked them why don’t they tell the guard who was at the door who keeps aside all bags being carried by customers coming in, to stop people from coming in after closing time, to this they said we always pull down shutter half and people know that it is now closed and this is as per company policy too.

I was lucky to have been only hurt someone could easily get seriously hurt in such a situation.

I pass by that store almost everyday around their closing time and they still blatantly continue with their practice of half pulled down steel shutter with no lighting outside. I would never step in again to be fleeced and hit on the head. I guess no one can dare to take action against the Reliance giant as they have deep pockets to bribe anyone to get away.
