Don't blame the network for poor handset quality

When sending complaints to the’CARE’ mail id, do remember that they will not consider 2mbps and above as slow for 4g speeds! you have to prove its below 2 for them to take any action.

the photo on the right shows a big spike in data usage when I tried torrents on a sunday since I was getting almost 40 mbps in our master bedroom [only 20mbps in the other bedroom]. as you can see 29 of my 34gb total is from the hotspot.

I have exhausted the 25gb monthly limit in 3 weeks and now my speed is reduced to around 4-5 mbps which is still decent and by far the best throttling in the market though this is only during the preview offer and may change without notice at commercial launch before diwali. I get the feeling in other cities there is no throttling at all just like for employees of jio.

Just found out last week that call forwarding is non-functional and not included in free minutes even to any local number despite the fact that the cost to jio is the same for fwd vs calling. you can set it in your lyf handset but the caller will just get an error message in marathi [or your state language] saying your balance is zero and you need to recharge even in the 1st month of the 3 month offer.

after commercial launch, we can pay for this service to off-net numbers.

I noticed a big difference in voice quality when I switched from my lyf flame 1 handset pathetic speakers to a headset. my data speeds have varied in:

Mumbai from 4 - 40 Mbps indoors;

navi Mumbai is 0.3 - 13 Mbps [indoors / outdoors].

let us know what speeds you have got for jio 4g in the comments below.

compared to my cdma and rgsm, I got no call drops over vashi bridge and even in a modern full metal lift, the jio call did not disconnect. it just muted from door close to open in the Mitsubishi elevator.

the biggest problem in buying the phones is the mandatory visit to the store to sign the sim form when other operators like airtel or vodafone are willing to send someone to your house to collect copies / signs at least in mumbai 4g.

strangely enough I got lower speeds next to my office window at 0.3 mbps than away at my desk of 2.5 mbps which should be the other way around.

the lyf care app is very annoying with multiple daily popups to register your purchase and avail the 2nd year warranty so I had to uninstall it. why not use my jio login to get all invoice details instead of having us re-enter the date, amount, model, and upload photo of the receipt! very retarded.

jio join is not working for me yet so I will update once that is sorted out.

the idea is to use the jio hotspot to place volte calls from non-volte handsets just using wifi.

very useful if your friend or family has poor network and you prefer not to hand over your phone for them to use.

I have consumed 5gb mobile data in my first week of use but 1.5gb was just a frenzy of downloading legal music on jio beats!

I have never had unlimited 4g data before so I overdid it.

the big problem with jio beats is that there is no way to shift the songs from the 4gb [yes, that’s correct] phone storage to my 32gb sdcard which is insane.

to get a callback from the app development team, post a low rating in the play store! at they are following up currently until commercial launch.
