EDIT 03 APR 2018:
In light of improvements made by JIO since the last time I reviewed them, I am changing my ratings. The network has all but stabilized and there are very few downtimes. The speed is consistent most of the times with some slowdown experienced during evening. And in terms of pricing/offers Jio has yet to meet a fair competitor so if you get good Jio coverage in your area, a Jio 4G connection is really the best mobile network solution you can get in the market right now.
OLD REVIEW:
-
In the beginning, I got decent speed time to time. Since jio did its all India launch, I get speed of 10kbps to 140kbps(yes you read that right. I didnt make a typo. The average speed in this area used to be 13mbps) . It is impossible to even properly load google.com let alone watch videos or use any of jio features like live TV or movies. In a desperate bid to get as many people possible to use jio and induce panic among other operators reliance is forgetting something basic that people dont care about free internet if it doesnt even work. The hype will die down soon and then jio is likely to fall flat on its face with its so called mass launch. They simply do not have the infrastructure, coverage and resources to support the tall claims they are making and it is already visible in less than a month. By making this hasty launch jio will loose even the customers that were previously happy with it because now they cant use the internet at all and have to switch to other services. Many people who disconnected their broadbands will have to pay set up charges again and I cant even begin to imagine who would pay for such pathetic non existent service should jio decide to charge money. The speed is worse than 2G, I mean really you cant do anything at all with this so called internet, so unfortunately I cant use it even if its free. Jio needs to get their act together before making tall fairytale claims and bringing down their already poor credibility in the telecommunications market.
